Job Description

The Business Development Senior Manager partners closely with a core pitch team to deliver best-in-class proposals and pitch presentations. The Senior Manager is accountable for understanding and crafting content, proposals and deliverables that directly address the client ask and needs. This role is responsible for the quality and consistency of proposal writing, content creation, BD assets and pitch deliverables. The Business Development Senior Manager role has strong writing skills, in addition to critical and strategic thinking abilities, and develops exposure to shaping and speaking to business points of view.  

 The Senior Manager is able to work independently, collaborates cross-functionally, builds trust from teams and keeps a proactive, detailed lens on all work. Internal team initiatives will involve supporting projects across various BizDev needs, helping us elevate and scale our work. In this role, the Business Development Senior Manager will gain confidence in building relationships, shaping best-in-class proposals and learning leadership skills as on owner of small projects.  

Responsibilities: 

The Business Development Senior Manager is responsible for proposal writing, managing day-to-day RFI/RFP deliverables, partnering closely with the core pitch team, shaping pitch materials, partnering closely with PMs to ensure quality, timeliness, and fiscal responsibility and providing input so that all deliverables meet client needs. The focus is on content creation and story flow skill confidence. 

 Beyond RFIs (request for information) and RFPs (request for proposal), the role supports small, internal projects as well as provides support to broader company initiatives. The role is also accountable for maintaining data integrity across the EVERSANA INTOUCH CRM. Honing skills around relationship building, motivating others, day-to-day management and leading certain projects is involved. The Business Development Senior Manager will proactively outline and propose recommendations for improvements, providing ideas to elevate and impact our work.

  • Reports to the VP, Strategic Development; works directly with a number of Strategic Development team members across our various offices 

  • Some travel likely (occasionally on short notice) 

  • Sometimes, evening and weekend work — but always with consideration of your life outside of work. While we thrive being busy, we have balance in our lives! 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education plus professional experience required 

  • Five to seven years in the healthcare marketing industry with business development experience 

  • VERY high level of interpersonal and communication skills — both verbal and written 

  • Proposal writing and content creation experience 

  • Inherent critical and strategic thinking 

  • Strong people skills and high emotional IQ 

  • Self-motivated and proactive 

  • High attention to detail with lean, mean organizational ways; keen on quality and keeping work in tip-top shape 

  • Action driven — sense of urgency is a really big deal 

  • Good references — being highly recommended is a very good thing 

  • PowerPoint experience is a must; An eye for design is preferred 

  • Previous experience in Salesforce and/or content management systems is a bonus
