Job Description
This is a senior IT leadership role with overall accountability for the technical delivery capability within Brinks Company including Architecture, Data Management, Data Science, Analytics Management and IT Innovation. This role will translate and guide execution of business strategy to achieve the organization’s targeted business outcomes by leading the development of an implementation roadmap for the enterprise architecture. Based on an enterprise architecture framework, this role will provide direction for solution design, prototyping, configuration and software engineering. This role owns and governs the technology architecture roadmap of the enterprise ensuring it is re-usable, scalable and cost conscious whilst meeting the needs of the business and ensuring alignment with the defined value streams and underlying products. The role holder will develop and own a ‘rule book’ which defines ‘must-do’s’ for all autonomous agile teams, as well as projects, and drives technology and partner selection. As such, the role provides strategic direction to the enterprise on both product and sourcing decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Outline the Global target state architecture and by region and trigger long-term planning
- Drive the evolution of the EA teams services and operating model
- Coach and mentor other architects, product owners/managers and business stakeholders to instill architectural thinking
- Analyze trends and disruptions, and assess their impact on targeted business outcomes
- The role holder also owns the data & analytics and innovation strategy for the enterprise and is responsible for designing, building and governing the data capability (people, process, technology) required to create an insights driven organization.
- The role holder is responsible for running architecture governance board that enables continuous integration and continuous deployment (CICD) mindset.
- Working together with the VP of Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity and Regional IT Leaders, this role will partner to streamline the deployment of technology into the business, optimizing time to market whilst minimizing failure rates of new releases.
Accountabilities:
Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture
- Enterprise Architecture: develop and maintain an enterprise architecture framework that is aligned with the overall objectives of the Brinks BBS Strategy, Global IT and Digital Strategy
- Solution Architecture and Technology Roadmaps: develop and maintain technology roadmaps which highlight how the overall objectives of the Brinks Company will be reached. Design the solution architecture to achieve each step of the technology roadmap
- Rule Book: develop and maintain an architecture rule book which defines architecture standards. Develop processes to ensure the rule book is successfully implemented in projects with partners and agile teams.
- Infrastructure and Security: Actively support the Head of Infrastructure and Information Security & Compliance Leader with their specific architectural requirements.
- Lead: a team of senior architects (enterprise and solution), software engineers (low code) and data engineers. Facilitate a transition to DevOps: ‘you build it, you own it’ for the selected products, to enable CICD
- Collaborate: work closely with the VP Enterprise Applications, VP Regional IT Leads, Information Security & Compliance Leader and VP Planning & Portfolio Management as well as selected business stakeholders and partners to ensure the successful implementation of the architecture rule book
- Emerging technology: Identify future technology and digital trends and innovation to deliver best in class customer experiences that balance value creation with cost optimization and which are in line with the overall 5 year plan and the digital strategy
