The Role:

This graduate position is part of the Acute Care Team, a multidisciplinary service within Tasmania’s public health system. The team provides short-term, community-based care for individuals experiencing acute health episodes, with a strong focus on mental health, recovery-oriented practice, and trauma-informed care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Care Delivery: Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients in acute settings, including hospitals and community environments.
  • Assessment & Intervention: Conduct triage, safety planning, and specialist assessments. Deliver brief interventions and coordinate short-term care.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other health professionals to ensure integrated, person-centred care.
  • Community Engagement: Support patients in their homes and communities, liaising with families, carers, and other service providers.
  • Professional Development: Participate in structured rotations, receive supervision, and engage in ongoing training to build clinical competencies.

You will need to be:

  • A recent graduate in an allied health discipline (e.g., occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work, psychology)

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $73,384 to $111,364 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
