Position Summary
This position is for a Senior IT Network Specialist – responsible for supporting project implementation, operations, and maintenance of PG&E’s enterprise VoIP Telephony and Audio Visual infrastructure within the Network Solutions Team. The successful candidate must have an in-depth understanding and knowledge of VoIP systems and protocols with a strong troubleshooting background.
The successful candidate must also effectively manage communications with vendors/service providers, clients, and peers. Maintain familiarity with currently implemented and new technology, including new versions of software/firmware, implementation of upgrades, and changes to procedures. Provide clear communication and documentation of events, processes and procedures, and configuration details. Candidates must be proactive, collaborative, and self-motivated. The work location for the successful candidate is negotiable within the PG&E service territory and is contingent on space availability.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $50.48 to $81.25.
Job Responsibilities
- Own projects and execute to completion
- Ensuring compliance with applicable security standards and requirements
- System monitoring to maintain availability
- Providing after-hours support for infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekend maintenance
- Evaluates new products and equipment and keeps abreast of new products and/or equipment available in the market
- Perform testing and evaluations of new technologies in a lab environment
- Conduct training to users and support personnel
Qualifications
Minimum:
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- 4 years of experience in IT – Information Technology operations
Desired:
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Voice Technology / Audio Visual
- Minimum 3 years of VoIP system design and builds experience
- Familiar with CUCM, NICE NTR, SBC, E911, Unity
- Ability to multitask, learn quickly, self- motivate, and be a team player
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP systems and IP Protocols
- Ability to program, change and troubleshoot VoIP
- Experience with configuration and deployment of MS Teams Telephony
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical users
