The Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) is seeking a highly skilled Shipping, Distribution & Warehouse Supervisor 2 to oversee the daily operations of our Central Distribution Center (CDC). This is a critical role managing the purchase, receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and rotation of supplies and equipment that support safe and efficient operations across the Department.
With oversight of an inventory exceeding $9 million in value and more than 1,000 stock items, including food, clothing, sanitation, maintenance, and other essential supplies, you will ensure accuracy, accountability, and compliance at every step.
This position is not just about logistics – it’s about leadership, accountability, and public service. You’ll work directly with staff and adults in custody (AICs), modeling professional work habits and safety practices, while contributing to the ODOC’s broader mission of rehabilitation, safety, and security.
About the Job – Your Role
As the CDC Warehouse Manager, you will:
- Manage the Central Distribution Center, ensuring safe, secure, and efficient warehouse and freezer operations.
- Oversee purchasing, receiving, issuing, and delivery of all warehouse stock; monitor stock levels; and develop reorder points based on usage and freshness.
- Coordinate with vendors, satellite warehouses, and institution leaders to ensure timely and accurate supply flow.
- Direct, train, and evaluate warehouse staff and AIC workers, modeling safe practices and reinforcing pro-social values.
- Conduct regular inventories, audits, and fiscal reporting; ensure compliance with policies, contracts, and purchasing guidelines.
- Manage budget forecasting, approve expenditures, respond to grievances, and represent the warehouse operation to statewide stakeholders.
This position is management services and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience;
OR
One year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Requested Skills
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and freezer management.
- Familiarity with ODOC Purchasing rules, state and federal transportation laws, and logistics compliance.
- Understanding of personnel practices and collective bargaining agreements.
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, DOC400) with advanced proficiency in AFAMIS and Elite.
- General knowledge of food service operations and stock rotation requirements.
