Job Description

What we do:

 

Our team is responsible for the continuous advancement, development, and refinement of the Flow Engine (https://www.servicenow.com/content/dam/servicenow-assets/public/en-us/doc-type/resource-center/data-sheet/ds-flow-designer.pdf). In this role, you will be challenged to leverage your design and development expertise to architect scalable and reliable solutions using the latest technologies and best practices to deliver seamless features that enhance the customer experience. Join us to solve some of the most complex problems in automation technology as we continue to innovate and expand our low-code/no-code solution with the Flow Engine to empower our end users.

 

What you get to do in this role:   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
  • Maintain and advance the Flow Engine’s capabilities to support a comprehensive range of Java and JavaScript APIs, ensuring seamless integration protocols and robust performance across the platform.
  • Ensure synchronous and asynchronous executions, queuing, event throttling, resuming, and reporting of data flow for platform workflow outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other teams building their product on the engine to sequence automated and manual work, helping customers achieve complex business outcomes.
  • Address and resolve defects and customer issues related to the Flow Engine, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives, contributing to continuous improvement of the Flow Engine and related products.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Proficient in Java (10+ years), JavaScript, and other relevant programming languages
  • Some experience with low-code workflow products and engines
  • Advanced knowledge with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of automation and system integration
  • Capability to manage multiple concurrent projects with material technical risk across teams and processes; may serve as a functional lead or technical owner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with ServiceNow platform is desired, but not required.

For positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $163,000 - $285,200, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure.
