Job Summary:

This position will appeal to ambitious and compassionate professionals who have a specific interest in helping patients with head and neck cancer navigate their courses of treatment. The successful applicant will coordinate and support individual patients and families throughout the course of care, which involves complex scheduling across multiple departments. Assures coordination of diagnostic evaluations, treatments, surgeries and follow-up appointments throughout the course of care for patients with head and neck cancer.

Department Summary

Our otolaryngologists at Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center offer advanced, comprehensive care for the full spectrum of ear, nose and throat-related disorders. Whether you need routine care or a complex surgery, we combine the expertise of many different specialists to provide you with personalized care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Acts as the first point of contact for patients and their families who are seeking care for head and neck cancer.
• Partners with clinical care staff and providers to ensure all regulatory requirements are met to maintain patient care needs, program guidelines and/or required accreditation standards.

• Acts as a point of access for patients, referring providers and the Vanderbilt community.
• Develops both short and long term goals to ensure programs' success.
• Provides support to patient care team to market programs and streamline business processes to allow for appropriate growth.
• Establishes contact with existing, newly diagnosed, potential, or referred patients by facilitating access to providers, educational materials and communication with care providers.

• Works with other Patient Care Program Coordinators in adjacent clinical programs to improve processes and provide staffing coverage.
