Job Summary:
The Senior NPI Technician will perform various technical job as part of new product introduction, Pilot projects, established manufacturing cells and automatization processes or initiatives. The incumbent may run parts, perform set ups, optimize and monitor established manufacturing processes. Reports directly to Engineering Manager and will work in coordination with Engineers, CNC Programmers and other professionals to address the technical issues in manufacturing and pilot cells. Provides support in producing fixturing and machining setup components.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Participate in Pilot initiatives, NPI and Production, including set-up and changeovers
· Improves pilot projects/initiatives, NPI and manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning process workflow including set up and changeovers
· Assures product and process quality
· Ensure all safety protocols are followed
· Cross-training will be expected
· Serve as technical subject matter expert within pilot and NPI cell on relevant machinery/processes.
· Facilitate problem solving activities
· Manage implementation & use of OEE, SPC
· Champion Standard Work and manufacturing processes including setup sheets, etc.
· Write work order maintenance
· Work with Engineers & Programmers to conduct tool tests, FAL’s, process improvements, optimal sequences, etc.
· Train production operators, maintain cross training matrix
· Manage timely calibration of gauges
· Support New Product Development and Fixturing
· Troubleshoot and repair machinery problems as authorized.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills, and abilities)
- Strong knowledge of all relevant machinery, tooling, measuring, and gauging equipment and use of proper handling methods in assigned areas. Thorough understanding of production processes in area.
- Knowledge of proper set-ups for machinery Lathes and Grinder Applications, blue-prints, routers, and CNC set-up files.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM modeling including Esprit, Partmaker, etc.
- Adequate knowledge of parts required to produce quality assembly per functional and cosmetic requirements.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing instrumentation (e.g., micrometers, calipers, comparators, etc.), and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, basic mathematics, and blue-print reading.
