Summary

RayzeBio, a Bristol Myers Squibb company, is seeking applicants for an Environmental Monitoring Intern. Reporting to the Manager of Microbiology, the Environmental Monitoring Intern will help support the daily operations in the EM and Microbiology laboratory, assisting with routine monitoring, sample processing, and documentation for GMP radiopharmaceutical manufacturing This opportunity will provide hands-on experience in regulated laboratory and cleanroom environments, with training in aseptic technique, EM procedures, and basic data analysis.

The full-time internship will take place June - August 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental monitoring (air, surfaces, personnel sampling) in cleanroom areas under supervision

  • Assist in sample collection, preparation, and incubation per applicable SOPs

  • Record, review, and trend laboratory data accurately in logbooks and electronic systems

  • Observe and reinforce laboratory safety and contamination control procedures

  • Participate in laboratory huddles/team meetings and contribute to process improvement activities

  • Assist with document preparation, CAPA follow-up, and audit readiness as needed

  • Assist in stocking and organizing lab consumables required for environmental monitoring and microbiology testing.

  • Read plates to quantify microbial growth and subculture pure isolates as required.

  • Ensure compliance with GMP regulations, radiation safety guidelines, and quality standards.

  • Perform other duties as required by management.

Education and Experience:

  • Pursuing a degree in biology, biochemistry, or other life sciences

  • Completion of one or more lab-based courses with wet bench chemistry or other hands-on experience with basic laboratory equipment (e.g., pipettes, laminar flow hood, centrifuge)

  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the US both at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment.  Please note that immigration or visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This is a temporary, time-bound position intended for the duration of the internship or co-op program. Employment in this role does not imply or guarantee ongoing or permanent employment with BMS.

The starting hourly compensation for this assignment is within the range of $23.00 to $42.00/hr. Please note that the final individual compensation and any applicable benefits will be determined by your employer of record (and not BMS). Factors influencing this decision may include the characteristics of the assignment, such as demonstrated experience, required skill, and the geographic location of the job. Compensation details are subject to change.
