The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Business Supply Chain, Consumer Business Group, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Responsible for initiating and conducting broadly defined technical tasks and programs within a specific technology cluster in a manufacturing environment, usually associated with Process and Product Understanding.

• Usually reports to a supervisor, manager, or a senior technical individual, but work direction may come from other sources including cross-functional teams.

• May guide the technical activities of other employees.

• Supporting successful NPI scale up and launch of new products with capacity, capability, and cost.

• Work across the pillars of Plan, Make, Source and Deliver to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability while optimizing supply chain network

• Performing capability assessments and cost estimates for new opportunities.

• Driving process development, recommend new equipment and modification to support cost improvements and new product introductions.

• Providing manufacturing technical support for local and global manufacturing of the businesses products by driving critical to business cost, product yield, and customer quality projects.

• Use lean, continuous improvement, and value stream tools to drive improvements.

• Other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Science (completed and verified prior to start)

• Five (5) years combined experience in a manufacturing and/or laboratory role with product and/or development responsibility in a private, public, government, or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience with New Product and New Technology Introductions

• Demonstrate ability to translate business and supply chain needs into workable technology solutions for manufacturing operations

• Ability to work well cross-functionally

• Strong organization and communication skills

Work location: Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic and international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $119,076 - $145,537, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
