About the role

Job Description:

The Nursing Graduate works under direct line-of-sight supervision of the Registered Nurse in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in the patient care delivery process. The incumbent also orients to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care. This position may participate in medication administration under the direction and supervision of the licensed RN.

The New Grad RN position is for recent RN graduates or those with less than one year of RN experience. Those hired as a New Grad RN will work under a licensed RN until license can be verified. In conjunction with working on this unit New Grad RNs attend Intermountain’s one-year nurse residency program. The nurse residency program supports New Grad RNs in their transition from classroom to caregiver through webinars, simulations, case studies, and in person meetings. G3 Medical Nursing Unit - We are a smaller, 15-bed unit with a dedicated hospitalist team caring for patients with medical issues, including diabetic complications, infectious diseases, electrolyte imbalances, gastroenterological, respiratory, cardiac, kidney, and liver complications.  Come join our fun, friendly staff in providing exceptional patient care in a unique setting.  

Minimum Qualifications:

New Grad RN

Entry Pay: $30.87

  • Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing/RN education program (education will be verified).

RN

Entry Pay: $34.19

  • Current RN License in state of practice.

New Grad RN and RN

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
