Position Summary

The Senior Business Analyst will fill the role of preparing requirements for projects focusing on the gemEnterprise product offering so that the Software Development team can develop accordingly. This will require the coordination of the Software Development team, documentation team, and interfacing with the lottery customer confirming requirements and specification in an effort to provide an agreement of requested services through the Quality Control testing efforts not only with the development team but the lottery as well. 

Job Functions

  • Strategically plan and manage documentation efforts surrounding the gemEnterprise product offering
  • Work with product management and development to enhance features of the gemEnterprise product
  • Understand the global lottery landscape as it pertains to the gemEnterprise product
  • Able to ask probing questions to fully understand a customer's business process and workflow that impacts the implementation of gemEnterprise
  • Able to build strong customer relationships through trust and communication
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to drive requirement gathering and product development and implementation
  • Schedule review of requirements and specifications with the customer with the goal to obtain sign off
  • Interface with Software development, technical services, network, documentation, training, departments to keep apprise of functionality especially as required for proposal and specification writing
  • Create System Requirement Specifications, Functional Requirements, Business Requirements and Product Requirements
  • Ability to oversee preparation for and potentially manage user acceptance testing of new and/or improved software where required.
  • Apply a structured methodology to ensure requirements, documentation and solutions are in line with best practice principles
  • Use change management best practices process adopted by NASPL to manage projects
  • Gather and author technical specification requirements for new software
  • Produce detailed, high quality documentation including business requirements, functional specifications and process maps.
  • Prepare estimates for implementation efforts
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing as appropriate
  • Evaluate software change requests
  • Ensure continued training and education in the latest technology, techniques and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Level Description

  • Works on short, mid and long-term assignments that regularly require the application of independent judgment. Mentors less experienced members of the team. Participates in product design and implementation. Able to anticipate and avoid roadblocks before they occur and escalate risks when identified.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience

Years of Related Experience

  • 5+ years of Business Analysis experience
  • Experience in product development and implementation documentation
  • Experience with the development of all aspects of the system implementation including, but not limited to, gathering requirements, design, development, testing and support
  • Experience working with Architecture, System Design, Configuration, Customization, Integration and Testing, Production Cutover and Support
  • Use case creation and application
  • Experience with gap analysis and strategic roadmap/blueprint development
  • Experience with large Full Life Cycle (FLC) product and project implementation
  • Experience and understanding of the SDLC
  • Experience working within the Agile Scrum Methodology and Waterfall Methodology depending on the project
  • Knowledge and experience in product promotions, hardware and systems software, and process flows
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Unix operating systems
  • Working knowledge of SQL and SQL Server
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
