Educational Requirements:

BS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent. Also, PhD students can be considered. 

The Video Coding Research team at Nokia Technologies has a strong track record in developing compression algorithms and features for international standards. You will be part of a highly skilled multi-national team of experts in the field of video compression. 

We are seeking a highly motivated student to join our team as an Intern. In this role you will be responsible for various tasks in development and testing of new video coding algorithms/system features/software for next generation video coding standards. 

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Study and develop new video coding algorithms for next generation video coding standards.
  • Analyze contributions presented at JVET standardization meetings.
  • Implement new features, conduct computer simulations and evaluate the experimental results.

Qualifications for this role:

  • Good knowledge of basic signal/image/video processing/compression
  • Proficiency in software development in C, C++, Python.
  • Knowledge of current video coding standards, such as AVC, HEVC, and VVC.
