ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

•    Maintenance Technician 3 - Day
•    Monday-Friday 7:00am – 7:30pm and Sat & Sun 7:00am – 7:30pm (2/2/3 Rotation Schedule)


•    The hourly wage for this position is $37.97

ROLE SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible to assist in maintaining and repairing process and packaging equipment while maximizing production requirements that meet/exceed manufacturing specifications under the guidance of the Maintenance Lead and skilled Maintenance Technicians.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions):
•    Responsible to always promote a safety culture and awareness throughout the plant and within their area.  Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures always.
•    Safe and efficient packaging line operation to meet or exceed all quality, scheduling and customer requirements. 
•    Provide training and guidance to all technicians I, and 2.
•    Assist Maintenance Technicians, 1 and 2 or higher in performing technical work while running lines in pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical areas. *
•    Under the guidance of the Maintenance Coordinator or Maintenance Technician II or higher, maintain packaging equipment including, but not limited to, machine adjustments, repairs, lubrication, etc. and perform routine preventative maintenance to maintain efficient operation. *
•    Active participation in training and certification program as needed by training all Technical Line Operators in technical aspects of machinery to include set-ups, changeovers, troubleshooting, etc. *
•    Effectively communicate and coordinate changeover requirements with all affected personnel and departments.
•    Execute the TPM (total productive maintenance) program as assigned by machine, participate in and follow up on all related activities. *
•    Computer operation to include CLICKS, SAP, CMMS, inventory management system, machine downtime history files, etc. *
•    Performs other duties as required.


MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•    High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
•    Technical school training or apprenticeship

PREFERED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•    Strong computer skills required; previous experience with SAP or CMMS preferred.
•    Must be certified as Maintenance Technician 2 at the Church & Dwight Victorville plant.
•    2-3 years proven maintenance mechanic experience in a fast-paced lean manufacturing environment preferred; CPG (consumer packaged goods) industry a plus – OR – a combination of equivalent coursework/certification and relatable experience (industrial, auto, etc.)
•    Strong mechanical aptitude including basic knowledge in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic; strong shop math skills; and strong troubleshooting ability required

•    Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
•    Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media such as verbal, written, etc.
•    Ability to operate machinery with great attention to detail
•    Excellent critical thinking skills – ability to troubleshoot small unforeseen issues
•    Ability to be cross trained across numerous job functions
•    Ability to take and follow directions
•    Ability to work with minimal supervision
