This position will implement Sanger Sequencing in the QC department. Candidate will write the Standard Operating Procedures and qualify the method on commercially available plasmids.
Essential Functions:
- Draft the SOP, including detailed step-by-step instructions for the Sanger sequencing workflow
- Ensure the SOP is clear, concise, and easy to follow for laboratory personnel.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure technical accuracy
- Using commercially available plasmids, qualify the Standard Operating Procedure.
- Create report summarizing the results from the qualification.
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
- The intern will use technical writing skills to draft and refine the SOP.
- Communication and collaboration will be essential for gathering input from SMEs and laboratory staff.
- Research and organizational skills will help the intern compile accurate and comprehensive information about Sanger sequencing.
- Basic laboratory knowledge will provide context for understanding the procedure and its practical implementation.
Requirements:
- Candidate must be a Junior or Senior working toward a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in laboratory environment.
- Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Must provide own transportation and housing
- Must be available from June 2, 2025 through August 25, 2025
- Some laboratory experience preferred.
