The Packaging Technician plays a key role in our production team by safely operating and monitoring packaging equipment to deliver high-quality products every day. In this role, you’ll set up machines, make routine adjustments, perform quality checks, and work closely with production, maintenance, and quality partners to keep operations running smoothly. You’ll help maintain a clean, safe work environment while meeting production goals and food safety standards.
**This role is a second shift role, with a schedule of Monday-Friday from 3:30 pm - midnight.
**Note that this role requires at least one year of machine operator experience.
What You Will Do:
Operate grinding and/or packaging equipment to process coffee according to the daily production schedule
Follow all workplace safety, food safety, and quality standards, including GMPs and standard operating procedures
Perform quality checks, complete required production and quality records, and ensure product meets specifications
Monitor equipment performance and communicate safety, quality, or production issues to leadership; report equipment issues to Maintenance/Engineering
Support productivity and efficiency while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area
Assist with training and guiding team members and temporary workers at the workstation as needed
Who You Are:
Required:
At least 1 year of production experience as a machine technician or machine operator.
Basic math, reading, and writing skills
Basic computer skills
Willingness to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays
Physical Requirements and Environmental Exposures:
The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking in addition to the following:
Able to work 8-hour shifts while standing, lifting, bending, and reaching
Must be able to work on your feet for over 9 straight hours
Able to perform physical tasks that are repetitive, and lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis
Must be able to lift 80 pounds 20% of the shift
Must be able to endure constant leaning and bending during the shift
Must be able to handle/move up to 750-pound bins on casters
The environmental exposures for this position are:
Airborne particles, fumes, high places, moving parts, muscular strain, noise, odors, high temperatures
