About the role

Ergon, Inc. is hiring for the position of Internal Auditor.

Reporting to the VP of Internal Audit, the Internal Auditor is responsible for planning and conducting operational and financial audits, either individually or as part of a team. This position will work with all levels of the organization as a partner during the audit and remediation process.

Internal Auditor Job Responsibilities:

  • Completes analytical reviews on a quarterly basis of certain key controls, performs operational and financial audits as directed, and conducts reviews of prior audits for process improvements or remediation.
  • Performs in-house special investigations.
  • Prepares well-founded audit reports including recommendations to optimize processes, structures, and internal controls.
  • Presents audit results to and follow-up with management on their agreed action plans to ensure remediation is implemented.
  • Leverage insights and understanding of the Company to identify emerging risks and potential areas for audit.
  • Cooperates with external auditors and other experts.

Internal Auditor Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or accounting with a minimum of two to three years of business experience
  • CPA, CIA or CSIA certification (or in process) is preferred, and once employed, maintaining certification is required
  • Understanding of COSO framework
  • 2 - 3 years of professional experience in internal or external audit, preferably in industrial sectors
  • Experience in planning, performing, reporting, documenting, and follow-up of internal audit engagement
  • Critical thinking skills to identify risk, analyze, and offer solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, detail oriented, and organized
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills for use in analysis, reporting, and data management
  • Ability to travel 25%
