Software Developer Level 3

Athenix Cyber & SIGINT is seeking a Software Engineer Level 3 to work in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Minimum Requirements:

• Twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. In lieu of a BS degree an additional (4) four years of additional experience may be substituted.
• Java
• Git
• Maven (or similar build automation/dependency management tools)
• Development in Linux environment
• Willingness to learn
• Proficiency in at least TWO of the following:
  - JavaScript and familiarity with a GUI framework such as VueJS
  - Spring (Boot, Rest/MVC)
  - NoSql DBs (Mongo, ElasticSearch, Redis, Graph DB, etc.)
  - Apache NiFi
• TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Desired Requirements:

•  CI/CD (eg., Jenkins), Junit testing or similar
• DevOps experience
• Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
• Familiarity with developing REST APIs
• Scripting with bash or Python
• Data science or data modeling experience
