The Innovation Design Advisor plans and executes strategies to meet organization's long-range goals including acquisitions/divestitures and strategic business alliances. The Innovation Design Advisor works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

               

The Lead Experience Design role is a critical member of the multidisciplinary Clinical Program Implementation team within Clinical Strategy. This role requires demonstrated expertise in both research and design strategy with specific responsibilities outlined below.  The Experience Designer must be extremely collaborative as they will work across a portfolio of clinical initiatives and as a team with other experience designers, as well as product managers and clinicians on our team, to ensure shared learnings, continued growth and development, as well as utilization of key individual strengths where needed to advance the portfolio.

Key responsibilities of the position include design strategy and research components as follows:

  • Framing problems and opportunity spaces using inputs from stakeholders, end users and research with primary focus on member needs and experience.
  •  Plan and execute primary and secondary research to uncover deep insights and identify opportunity areas impactful to both the user and Humana.
    • Able to work effectively with product managers and clinical leads to define overall research needs and complete a research brief. The Lead should be familiar with a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and be able to recommend the best method(s) for the given research question. The lead should be a strategic thinker who is able to coach members of the team to reframe problems where needed to get the most useful information from participants (as opposed to taking the research request at face value).
    • Able to work through various channels to execute the research, include determining the best partner (internal or vendor), optimizing for budget, and determining who should lead the sessions. The lead should also determine where we can combine efforts from multiple workstreams.
    • Able to capably conduct qualitative and quantitative research using a range of methods and with a variety of stakeholders. This includes developing screeners, preparing materials, conducting interviews, writing surveys, etc.
    • Able to collate key findings and insights and present them in a meaningful, business practical, and consumable way for the team.
  • Plan and execute work-sessions with a broad range of stakeholders helping to gain alignment at every stage of development.
  • Identify and prioritize member needs against business case to ensure we maximize achieving clinical outcomes and value delivery through our solutions.
  • Constantly strive to improve the member’s journey and experience using evidence-backed insights.
  •  Create and orchestrate experiences that are desirable for members, viable for the business, and operationally and technically feasible.
  • Generate and articulate future concepts and experiences that envision how people will interact with the products and services we design.
  • Provide input to Product managers for test and learn experiments to validate or invalidate key experience and performance indicators
  • Be an excellent communicator and comfortable presenting everything from research to design solutions, both verbally and visually to colleagues, stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Justify design decisions with qualitative/quantitative data, give honest feedback to others, and leverage your communication skills to influence and guide the broader strategy.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree

* Must have experience in design and research in health insurance field. 

* A minimum 8 years of technical experience across the following areas below:

  • Defining, coordinating and conducting research
  • Analyzing and synthesizing research against identified business problems to inform appropriate solutions. 
  • Leading workshops with vendors/partners to define necessary elements of co-development required to meet business goals, KPI, or other defined metrics. 
  • Conducted stakeholder/partner interviews, analyzed and synthesized findings against business problems to inform appropriate solutions.
  • Creation of artifacts such as journey maps, service blueprints, etc.
  •  Creation of visuals or other collateral necessary to share insights for multiple levels of stakeholders from operational teams to senior executives.
