About the role

As a leading Workday implementation partner, we are seeking a dynamic, experienced Workday Sales Architect to join our sales team. This non-billable, client-facing role plays a crucial part in guiding prospective customers through the strategic and technical aspects of adopting Workday solutions. The Workday Sales Architect works cross-functionally with sales, solutioning, and delivery teams to scope complex deals, develop tailored proposals, and ensure strategic alignment between our offerings and client needs. This role is ideal for someone who brings functional Workday knowledge, strong consulting experience, and a passion for shaping solutions that drive meaningful outcomes for our clients. Responsibilities Solution Design & Estimation

Translate client business requirements into customized Workday, and deployment timeline, translating business requirements to create a comprehensive deployment plan, including functional configuration, integration and conversion estimates as well as detailed deployment timelines

Develop accurate scopes of work and effort estimates using tools like Provis or similar.

Identify and rationalize solution complexity by functional area(s) (HCM, PATT, Financials, Student, etc.).

Sales & Proposal Support

Partner with the Sales organization to craft tailored deal strategies that align to prospects’ needs and business objectives.

Collaborate with sales and proposal development teams to build tailored proposals, including pricing models and phased implementation plans.

Actively support sales meetings and orals presentations with technical insights, Q&A support, and functional expertise.

Serve as a trusted advisor to AEs, solution consultants, and client stakeholders throughout the sales lifecycle.

Facilitate scoping confirmation/rationalization sessions and use outcomes to revise scope and timeline.

Drive and take full ownership of the creation and completion of accurate, client-aligned Statements of Work (SOWs).

Thought Leadership & Strategic Enablement

Stay informed on Workday’s latest modules, features, and release updates.

Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to position Workday advantageously.

Provide internal coaching and mentorship on scoping methodology, industry best practices, and functional expertise.

Internal Collaboration & Enablement

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on estimation tools, delivery methodology, and sales enablement materials.

Contribute to the refinement of go-to-market strategies and service offerings across verticals (e.g., Higher Ed, Government).

Desired Experience And Skills

Workday certification in at least one functional area (e.g., HCM, Financials, Absence, Time Tracking); multiple certifications preferred.

Knowledge of multiple Workday functional areas with experience that crosses HCM and Financials is preferred.

Experience supporting Higher Education and/or Government clients.

Prior experience using ERP/CRM systems like SalesForce, NetSuite, OpenAir, or similar.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and consulting toolsets.

Workday consulting or engagement management experience, with proven expertise in solution design and/or delivery across multiple modules.

Prior experience in a Workday pre-sales, solution architect, or sales-support role.

Strong understanding of Workday implementation methodologies and integration capabilities.

Demonstrated ability to scope, estimate, and present compelling value propositions.

Experience mentoring, coaching, or leading teams in a consulting environment.

Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
