Senior Accounting Clerk

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for timely and accurate payments of Seaboard Foods commodity purchases.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

• Processing weekly check runs for Seaboard's eight company-owned feed mills and Seaboard Energy’s feedstock commodities.
• Working closely with mill accounting and Seaboard procurement to ensure accurate and timely payables for Seaboard Live Operations.
• Working closely with Seaboard commodity vendors to ensure current and accurate payments via check and ACH, and communicating remittance and statement reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent preferred; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills. Self-starter and highly motivated. High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet deadlines during the financial period.
• Experience using J.D. Edwards software is helpful. Must have the ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry. 
• 10 keys by touch experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills and use of spreadsheets required. Experience with multi-site, multi-entity, and complex organizations a plus.
• Ability to work well within a team-like atmosphere and be able to interact daily with all levels of the company's workforce.
