The incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Manatee County in its mission to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community efforts and its efforts and its vision To be the Healthiest State in the Nation. Furthermore, the incumbent is expected to incorporate the agency values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Responsiveness and Excellence in all aspects of their work.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Supports Performance Excellence throughout the organization, utilizing the nationally recognized Baldrige/Sterling Management Model. This includes working with the Quality Improvement Team in the development and improvement of leadership processes to include, but not limited to:
- Assisting with Accreditation readiness including the development of the Foundational Plans (Strategic Plan, QI Plan, Workforce Development Plan, Community HealthAssessment, Community Health Improvement Plan, Emergency Operations Plan. Assisting with preparing Annual Reports for Foundational Plans.
- Supporting customer satisfaction improvement activities.
- Support activities related to review and analysis of the organizational and Division scorecards, and related action plans.
- Assisting with workforce engagement activities.
- Supporting quality improvement efforts such as process mapping, root cause analysis, process improvement and action planning; and supporting QI teams.
- Assisting with other activities which result in improved health and organizational results.
- Other duties including emergency related/shelter as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication; the principles of human behavior, learning, and communication; methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data; various audio-visual equipment, computer applications, and software programs and skilled in usage of such.
- Developing approaches for implementing an idea.
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement principles and processes. This may include Lean Six Sigma etc.
- Utilize problem-solving techniques; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to program and\or operations; prepare and evaluate a variety of written training materials such as performance evaluations or reports.
- Communicate effectively.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, conduct, monitor and evaluate operations and activities; prioritize workload; develop various reports.
- MS Office.
