Job Summary: Senior Events Manager
The Senior Events Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and flawless execution of a wide range of events at the hotel, including corporate meetings, conferences, weddings, banquets, and social functions. This leadership position oversees the events team, ensuring seamless service delivery, exceptional guest experiences, and revenue optimization.
Pay Rate - $90,000
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
• Act as the primary liaison for key clients from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up.
• Conduct site tours, develop customized proposals, and lead contract negotiations in alignment with hotel standards.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with repeat and VIP clients to foster loyalty and repeat business.
Event Planning & Execution
• Lead all phases of event planning, including budgeting, timelines, vendor coordination, and on-site execution.
• Coordinate cross-departmentally with teams such as Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Front Office, and AV to ensure smooth event delivery.
• Supervise event setup and breakdown, ensuring alignment with brand standards and client expectations.
Team Leadership
• Manage, mentor, and develop junior event coordinators and support staff.
• Delegate tasks effectively and monitor team performance to ensure excellence in execution.
• Conduct regular team evaluations and contribute to hiring and staffing decisions.
Financial Oversight
• Create and manage event budgets, forecasts, and post-event financial reports.
• Maximize revenue opportunities through strategic upselling and efficient space utilization.
• Ensure accurate billing and adherence to contractual agreements.
Strategy & Business Development
• Partner with Sales & Marketing to develop initiatives that drive event bookings.
• Analyze market trends, client feedback, and competitive offerings to enhance service offerings.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of promotional campaigns and packages.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in event management, preferably within a luxury or full-service hotel environment.
• Proven leadership experience with strong team management capabilities.
• Exceptional organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing abilities.
• Proficiency in event management software (e.g., Delphi, Opera Sales & Catering, Social Tables).
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions
• Fast-paced hotel setting, with extended hours during peak seasons and major events.
• On-site presence required during all key events.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods during event setup and execution.
