The Wealth Investment Solutions (WIS) team within Goldman Sachs Asset Management manages over $339bn in assets across a variety of mandates including 81,000+ customized portfolios, 44 exchange traded funds and mutual funds, and two exchange funds. The team is the largest separate account manager in the world and is an industry leader in delivering bespoke investment solutions tailored towards individual client objectives including direct indexing, tax-managed, factor-based and values-aligned portfolios to high net worth, institutional, and retail clients.
Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Quantitative Equity Solutions (QES) team oversees over $133BN across 32,000+ customized portfolios and a range of fund solutions. The QES team delivers bespoke investment solutions to High Net Worth, Institutional and Retail clients. As a focal point for one of the division’s key priority initiatives, the team operates in an entrepreneurial environment but with the resources of a large organization. A core focus for the team is creating disruptive digital tools and designing cutting-edge investment strategies that are capable of transforming the asset management industry. We design and employ highly-scalable portfolio management systems to create equity-based strategies designed to meet client investment objectives. We invest on behalf of clients via a direct indexing approach, through highly customized separate accounts. Current investment solutions range from tax advantaged offerings, income based strategies, factor based investing, index replication, values alignment and ESG oriented portfolios - with more strategies under development.
Our team of portfolio managers works closely with client portfolios managers, engineers, operations, controllers, compliance, and product managers. Responsibilities also include collaborating on new investment strategies and digital tools we are developing. Responsibilities:
- Lead creation of a systematic portfolio management process to implement tax-aware customized equity options strategies in separately managed accounts with scale
- Work with engineering teams to develop and build systems and infrastructure for a systematic investment process, including technical design specifications and testing
- Actively manage options strategies including trade generation, position monitoring, and risk management
- Work collaboratively with client portfolio managers and sales to arrive at creative solutions for our clients, with a focus on options strategies to achieve yield enhancement, risk reduction and transition management
- Research on enhancing existing options-based strategies and developing new strategies
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of options portfolio management/trading or related experience
- Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in mathematics, computer science, operations research, financial engineering, or other STEM-related background.
- Computer programming experience (e.g., Matlab, Python, R, Java, C / C++)
- Creative, diverse problem-solving skills, solid economic intuition, good commercial instinct
- Exceptional attention to detail, careful/thorough, well organized, effective time manage
