The Team:
The Northern Cancer Service (NCS) brings together a highly skilled multidisciplinary team—including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, haematologists, specialist cancer nurses, allied health professionals, pharmacists and support staff—who provide integrated, evidence‑based cancer care across Northern and North‑West Tasmania. Operating across multiple sites, the team delivers state‑of‑the‑art treatments and coordinates inpatient, outpatient and community‑based services to support patients and families throughout their cancer journey.The Role:
The Cancer Nurse Consultant – Cancer Care delivers advanced, autonomous specialist cancer care, providing expert clinical leadership across acute and community settings. The role supports multidisciplinary teams, strengthens service partnerships, leads education and quality improvement, contributes to policy and research, and practices in line with ANMC standards. The CNC‑CC also collaborates with fellow CNCs and upholds a strong child‑safe culture.You will need:
- Advanced clinical expertise in contemporary cancer care, coordination and independent clinical decision‑making.
- Strong leadership and communication, with the ability to educate, influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven capability in quality improvement, research, and developing policies, protocols and procedures in cancer care.

Details of appointment:
- Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 24 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
