Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Collateral Support Specialist to join our team. As a Senior Collateral Support Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing most aspects of vehicle title tracking and management for our organization. You will work closely with the Collateral Servicing department and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient processing and servicing of vehicle titles.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage the entire vehicle title tracking process, from initial application to final issuance, ensuring lien perfection while maintaining compliance with legal requirements and company policies.

-Lead and mentor a team of title tracking specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficiency

- Assist department Managers and VP by coordinating and performing supervisory tasks

- Specialized knowledge of unique title tracking issues

- Specialized in depth knowledge of department processes and procedures.

- Expert knowledge of all systems and software used for collateral management

- Review and verify all submitted paperwork and documents for accuracy and completeness, resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise.

- Input and maintain up-to-date information into the credit union’s database or title tracking system, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

- Resolve complex title tracking issues, working closely with internal departments, customers, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to find appropriate solutions.

- Coordinate and communicate with internal departments, dealerships, finance departments, and DMV agencies to facilitate the title application and transfer process.

- Mentor and provide guidance to junior title tracking specialists and technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance their skills and performance.

- Stay current with state and federal regulations and requirements related to vehicle titles, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary updates.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and implement best practices in title tracking and management.

- Assist front line staff, members, and other internal departments with complex title-related inquiries or issues, providing exceptional member service and resolving problems in a timely manner.

- Generate reports and compile data related to vehicle titles for management or regulatory purposes, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.

- Skilled understanding of Loan Administration’s various departmental processes to help define additional departmental workflows and processes.

- Work closely with department Managers & VP to identify and implement department process improvements

- Lead implementation projects or tasks that improve the department’s resources & capabilities

-Serve as a collateral management subject matter expert for Credit Union personnel.

- Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in title tracking and management, implementing relevant updates or improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.

- Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in automotive administration or related field is preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in title tracking or a similar role.

- In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations and requirements related to vehicle titles.

- Proficient in using title tracking software and databases.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

- Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

- Excellent member service skills, with the ability to address inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.

- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

- Willingness to adapt to and embrace new or changing priorities
