Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for performing the duties of a customer service representative for the Bureau of Public Health Laboratories. This includes assisting the public or other government personnel with general information regarding location and services provided by the laboratory. This position requires excellent written and oral communicative skills in addition to being proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access programs.
Receives potable/ non-potable water and chemical analysis samples that are delivered to the Porter Lobby. Notifies appropriate personnel to pick up water and other specimens that are dropped off at the laboratory for testing.
Provides customer service for the Bureau of Laboratories by promptly answering and directing telephone calls to the appropriate office or employee.
Process and bill out HIV 1 and 2 claims in the HPlusPro billing system. These claims are checked for eligibility through FMMIS.
Follows procedures for accepting cash or check transactions by issuing a receipt to each customer at the time payments are received. Records transactions and prepares daily a receipt log for the Fiscal Assistant II to pick up. Maintains accurate records of payment and enters into the system appropriate fees to be billed to the customer.
Assist the revenue supervisor with other projects as assigned to ensure area workloads are met.
Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.
Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions.
Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Microsoft Office experience.
Preferred: Associates degree with 1 to 2 years of experience.
