Description

Essential Purpose: Staff Instructors work with the Director of Instruction in planning and executing a robust offering of various player development programs and golf instruction-related resort activities in addition to teaching clients on a one-on-one or small group basis. Working with the Director of Instruction, Director of Golf and Golf Course Superintendent, this position will manage and maintain the golf range/teaching area to assure consistently high-quality service levels. Staff Instructors will also work with the Golf Operations staff to promote and sell memberships, as well as merchandise and equipment.

Essential Duties

  • To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • To greet all guests upon their arrival at their cars with a clean, safe and properly stocked golf cart, and to assist them with their golf bags.
  • To welcome all guests and thank them for playing at the Temecula Creek Golf Club.

INSTRUCTION ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist the Director of Instruction in creating, planning, and executing player development and individual golf instruction programs.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art teaching and learning theories and be able to integrate the use of teaching aids, videotape, launch monitors, etc. when appropriate in all programs. 
  • Assist the DOI in promoting and executing club fittings and program equipment sales, as well as promoting and selling club memberships.
  • Supervise information requests regarding or pertaining to schedule of lessons and instructional golf. 
  • Supervise upkeep of the golf range to ensure that safe, clean, organized, and professional conditions exist at all times. 
  • Maintain teaching aids and equipment inventory in excellent condition. 
  • Attend and/or set meetings, as necessary, with other resort departments pertaining to player development programs, clinic or camp events, or other golf instruction related items.
  • Elevate the reputation and prestige of the resort by representing TCI in local and national level golf tournaments and working with the Marketing team to leverage this for the facility.
  • Represent the facility and the Director of Golf in community service to create a positive relationship with media (TV-radio-newspapers) and local business through promotional activities and programs. 
  • Maintain a logbook of all lesson activity to be submitted on a monthly basis to the Director of Instruction
  • Maintain a calendar with updated availability for booking of golf lessons and group events.
  • Dual-coded employees must maintain their timecard with accurate coding designating whether the hours worked are as a staff instructor or for another department (ex. Golf Operations or Guest Services)
  • Work with the Director of Instruction to create and maintain a lesson rate sheet for individual lessons and groups that also have discounts for TC Player members.

OUTSIDE SERVICES ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • To maintain, in appropriate areas, an ample and orderly supply of golf carts.
  • To approach all guests, at the end of their round, to clean their clubs and to assist them in returning their golf carts.
  • To follow all specified procedures to satisfactorily perform routine daily tasks, including collecting and cleaning range balls; storing, cleaning, and charging golf carts; removing trash from staging areas; and to open and close the bag room and golf cart storage area.
  • To monitor the cleanliness, order, safety, and aesthetic quality of the property, including all equipment, immediately reporting service needs.
  • To participate in the set up and breakdown of clubhouse of golf special events.
  • To transport, as needed, golf carts to and from the cart staging and storage areas.
  • To advise the supervisor of any customer complaints so they may be professionally resolved.
  • To be knowledgeable about all goods and services offered by the golf course and to actively promote them to our guests.
  • To engage in the daily cleaning and repairs/maintenance of the golf cart fleet, ensuring that all records are kept properly.
  • To maintain and be responsible for the practice area, keeping range balls picked up by using the range picker in a safe and appropriate manner and cleaning the range balls, as needed.
  • To issue and retrieve rental clubs for/from guests, and clean clubs after use, including verifying that all clubs are accounted for and stored properly.
  • To administer daily play policies both in the role of a Starter and a Player Assistant on the golf course, and ensure the Pace of Play program is being followed, as requested.
