This job is in person Monday - Friday each week during business hours. This position is responsible for meeting with employees in person to discuss payroll, complete payroll and post-payroll reporting, and employee benefits. This is not a remote position. Open Enrollment starts October 27th. We are hiring ASAP.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Payroll
- Reviews all timecards for basic accuracy and employee/manager approvals prior to processing payroll.
- Works with Department Managers on timecard discrepancies.
- Maintains employee payroll records and processes payroll, including regular biweekly payroll and off-cycle payrolls.
- Ensures deductions from employee’s checks are accurate: health and dental insurance, AFLAC products, retirement plans, flexible spending accounts, emergency loans, garnishments, etc.
- Ensures all manual deductions from employee’s checks are accurate: uniforms, taxi cabs, meals, etc.
- Generates check requests and forwards to accounting as needed for garnishments, retirement plans, medical flexible spending plan and any other payments related to payroll deductions.
- Verifies system calculated PAL hours each pay period.
- Completes all payroll reporting accurately and timely each pay period.
- Assists in the processing of annual W-2s.
- Employee Benefits
- Ensures that employees are offered benefits at hire, change of status, and open enrollment.
- Reconciles all payroll deductions to the vendor invoices. Makes adjustments to future payroll deductions as needed and coordinates those adjustments with employees. Request adjustments from vendors and documents accordingly.
- Assist with coordinating of open enrollment benefits & meetings.
- Works with vendors & employees to find solutions for employee benefit questions.
- Assist with preparation and verification of 1095 forms.
- Reporting
- Prepares and runs reports from Paycom/HRIS system to report at the end of each payroll cycle, month, year and as needed.
- Ensures that accurate information is forwarded to accounting for payroll and PAL journal entries.
- Other Duties
- Serves as back-up to Human Resources Assistant.
- Familiar with policies and procedures of the Center, as well as state and federal regulations
- Other duties as assigned by VP of Human Resources or Healthcare Administrator.
- Serve on one or more special committees for the organization.
- Relieves the front desk personnel when needed for lunch or breaks.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Certification, Registration or Licensure
- None required
- Minimum Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
- Minimum Experience
- 5-7 years payroll and timekeeping experience required, to include applicable laws and regulations.
- 3-5 years employee benefit plan experience, especially as it relates to ACA.
