Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Equipment Engineers to join our Production Engineering organization in Auburn, WA, and Puyallup, WA. This electrical/controls-focused position will support exciting new initiatives in the Fabrication Division. Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of positions, including Experienced and Senior levels.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out on the production floor, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of Boeing design principles to assess and resolve product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Analyze reported issues, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for design non-conformances.
  • Apply engineering principles to research technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer and develop interim and final engineering solutions.
  • Identify, document, and analyze reported problems; communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety; and recommend and manage resolution actions.
  • Develop and implement product and process improvements.
  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in design reviews.
  • Represent the engineering community in the build-through-post-production environment.
  • Ensure supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards.
  • Develop customer correspondence to support continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participate in on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigation or support teams.
  • Analyze damage repair and structural modifications to determine appropriate jacking and shoring, prevent collateral damage, and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Design interim structural repairs and conduct static strength analysis.
  • Develop non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards.
  • Conduct simple static strength analysis.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3 or more years of experience working in an engineering discipline
  • 3 or more years of experience with production systems in a manufacturing or engineering capacity
  • 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • (Senior level) 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in a production environment
