Junior Developer

As a Junior Developer at Exiger, you will be responsible for designing and developing software projects from a technical implementation perspective that satisfy the project’s requirements, and result in implementing features and improvements in our flagship software platform.  You will also assist in supporting the software, troubleshooting, and fixing any production issues.  You will work within a team that will help you come up to speed with the design and architecture of the platform and will give you input in requirements gathering.

Key indicators of success in this role included writing quality code that operates correctly and coming up to speed quickly on the Exiger platform and related technologies.

Technical Skills for Success 

• Computer / Engineering / Science related college degree 
• Proficient in Java or any Java-syntax-compatible object-oriented programming language 
• Proficient with Object Relational Mapping tools 
• Proficient with Relational databases 
• Proficient with web application technologies such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript 
• Knowledge or experience in Full Stack application development 
• Knowledge or experience in Cloud technologies 
• Desire to stay current with technology 
• Experience in any of the following is a plus: Grails, Spring, Hibernate/JPA, Gorm, AJAX, Bootstrap, MySQL 
• Demonstrate information security awareness / understanding 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to work both independently and in teams 
• Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment 

Responsibilities Include 

• Act as a key technical contributor on a SaaS application built on Grails, with a focus on Hibernate 

• Participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle: requirements collection, system analysis, architecture, design, development, testing and documentation 
• Write code 
• Manage your work and keep your work on track from an implementation perspective 
• Work cooperatively with the Business and IT team at Exiger
