About the role
I. JOB SUMMARYResponsible for transporting clients, as assigned from a designated pick-up site to a designated host setting and light maintenance of fleet inventory.

II. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Transport clients as necessary in an agency vehicle
- Assist with boarding and departure as necessary for clients
- Informs team members of any significant changes to client’s behaviors
- Keep required vehicle logs; prepares and writes reports.
- Provides light operator maintenance, taking the vehicle for gas and oil changes, recording usage, expenses, etc.
- Completes daily vehicle safety checks and inspections.
- Operate within the guidelines of the Employee Handbook, program’s Operation Manual and agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Commercial driving experience required.
Skills and Abilities Needed:
- Must be congenial, patient and reliable with the ability to relate to staff and clients and gain their respect and confidence.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public. Attend agency trainings and maintain necessary certifications as determined by the agency.
- Maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license, automobile liability insurance coverage and an excellent driving record that allows the operation of an agency vehicle to transport clients as needed.
