About the job
The M&A Manager, North America will advance the execution of inorganic growth opportunities to cater to the business needs of the company. They will drive all aspects of M&A transactions and investments – strategy formation, evaluate technologies & products, developing business cases, financial modeling, and deal execution. Reporting to the President of Corporate Development in Sweden, they will work closely with the US sales company and a small team of M&A professionals across Europe. This role will ideally be based in Richmond, VA, but candidates across the East Coast will be considered.
As a part of the team, you will:
Lead M&A transactions including negotiate deals and successfully bring transactions over the finish line
Act as a subject matter expert on valuation and deal structuring
Use engineering expertise to evaluate technologies and capabilities of prospective targets
Be a “market-radar” by interacting with key external stakeholders to identify appropriate opportunities in the industry landscape that support Alfa Laval’s strategic priorities
Work closely with Alfa Laval business leaders to evaluate expansion and synergy opportunities, benefits and risks of potential acquisitions and manage the process of building both internal and external consensus
Create financial models that will support the assessment and valuation of potential acquisitions and strategic initiatives
Work with all cross-functional groups within Alfa Laval from signing the term sheet to integration
What you know
You have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Engineering.
MBA preferred, experience leading multiple acquisitions from prospecting to integration, and:
7+ years of business or corporate development experience in an industrial environment evaluating technology opportunities
Ability to travel as needed, at times internationally
Proven experience leading and completing high-level negotiations
Excellent business acumen and commercial understanding
Outstanding analytical and valuation skills combined with strong interpersonal skills to convey plans to stakeholders
A decisive and action-oriented mindset
Previous leadership experience preferred

We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your background, skills, and experience to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The overall salary range for this role is typically $130,000 to $160,000 base.
