JOB SUMMARYThe Pain Research Group in the Department of Anesthesiology seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant I with strong interpersonal skills to work on two NIH-funded grants across the agespan 1) evaluating biopsychosocial predictors of pain and opioid use in children following surgery and 2) a clinical trial examining the role of biopsychosocial factors and pain type in response to non-pharmacological treatments for adults with chronic pain. The Research Assistant will play a key role in both projects in assisting with screening potential participants, recruiting new participants for both projects, data collection and management, and administering the study protocol(s).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under supervision, carry out research studies
- Enter and maintain accurate study records in electronic databases, including Redcap
- Screen medical records, provider schedules, and surgery schedules for potentially eligible participants across studies
- Recruit and consent/assent study participants
- Engage with multidisciplinary collaborators to recruit participants at VUMC clinics
- Administer database tracking study participation, including monitoring of survey completion across two projects
- Facilitate online recruitment strategies, including social media updating and advertisements for study participation
- Conduct telephone screening for study participation
