Job Description
We are seeking an experienced onsite Distribution Training Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, planning, executing and managing comprehensive training programs, as well as creating high-quality training content for all associates at our distribution centers (DCs). The position is accountable for the identification of training needs, personnel, assessment of training effectiveness and support for adherence to regulatory training and compliance. You will work collaboratively with DC Operations Leaders to manage multiple indirect nonexempt reports. You will provide counsel, direction, evaluation, facilitation and content creation, in partnership with DC Operations Leadership. Candidates should possess agility and adaptability to effectively operate within multiple systems, as well as support multiple locations and multiple levels, from nonexempt to Vice President–level roles. The ideal candidate has a strong background in instructional design, excellent leadership skills and a deep understanding of distribution operations.
A day on the job looks like this:
- Engage and inspire our warehouse teams by creating, facilitating and supporting training for all DCs and temporary hourly associates, including new-hire orientation
- Collaborate with local leadership and HR teams to create training plans and policies that support operational needs and adherence to standing operation procedures (SOPs) that help drive operational efficiencies
- Identify and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness and departmental impact of training
- Certify floor trainers and assist in evaluation; provide improvement recommendations for their work performance
- Actively mentor and develop Training Leads
- Work with Training Leads and Temp Agency Trainers to ensure alignment of training process
- Develop training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids and other educational materials
- Assume responsibility for hourly population training, including onboarding, ongoing training, cyclical training and business-related training, including seasonal onboarding process for all DCs
Qualifications

- Candidates must have prior experience in a distribution center
- Bachelor’s degree required; adult learning certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of professional adult classroom facilitation or similar field preferred
- Must have strong written and verbal communication and be comfortable speaking/facilitating in front of groups of all sizes
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Computer skills and ability to learn processes and software within the distribution environment (MS Office, HighJump, video creation and editing)
- Ability to utilize technology to deliver impactful virtual training
- Provide support, development, facilitation and content creation for individual DCs and possible DC network requirements
- Self-motivator who can coach and mentor the performance of others; is comfortable spending substantial time on DC floor and interacting with DC nonexempt associates
- Works with limited supervision and demonstrates agility managing time effectively; maintains control over all current projects/responsibilities and uses discretion in assigning work and handling sensitive/confidential information
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies preferred
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems preferred
- Previous experience working in a DC (manufacturing or warehousing industry preferred)
- Ability to work across operational shifts and weekends
- Ability to travel up to 50% of work week
