The Business Intelligence Department is looking for a detail-oriented individual in a Data Warehouse Architect that designs data models, sets standards for data management and works closely with Data Engineers and other members of the team to ensure data is accurately captured, transformed and stored. Enjoy a flexible telecommuting schedule (3 days remote, 2 days on-site) as you provide support for to the Business Intelligence needs of the Airport authority and:

  • Design, implement, and maintain a scalable, flexible data warehouse architecture that meets business requirements and enhances data quality and accessibility.
  • Define data warehouse standards and principles and ensure adherence to these standards.
  • Work closely with data engineers and analysts to optimize data collection, transformation, and storage processes. Facilitate, where feasible, self-service reporting.
  • Evaluate and select database/data warehouse components, including hardware, database management systems, ETL software, data mining tools, and meta-data management tools.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineers, ETL developers, analysts, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure data solutions are aligned with company objectives and meet user needs.
  • Assess the impact of business changes on existing data architecture and propose efficient data solutions.
  • Monitor performance and recommend necessary infrastructure changes.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Keep abreast with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the organization's data architecture is modern and efficient.


Competencies:

  • Leveraging Technology: Familiarly of cloud-based data warehouse solutions such as Microsoft Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery. Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Problem Solving/Agility: Analyzes situation or factors, collaboratively generates alternatives or solutions, and readily adapts behavior or new work methods to evolving and unexpected situations.
  • Communication/Collaboration: Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders. Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions.
  • Project Management: Ability to determine appropriate measures to achieve project goals and prioritize the measures; able to fully engage project participants to deliver an acceptable result in the time allocated.
  • Technical & Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of data warehouse design principles (Kimball vs Inmon), data modeling, ETL processes, and data mart creation. High level of proficiency in database languages (SQL) and relational database management principles.
  • Information Security and Risk Management: Understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices for data security.

Requirements

Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, business intelligence, or a related role, with a focus on data warehouse technologies.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • AWS Certified Big Data Specialty
  • Experience with AI/LLM, machine learning and predictive modeling.
  • Experience in the aviation or transportation industry is desirable


The starting hiring salary for his position is $103,856.
