About the opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and insightful Finance Manager with a strong analytical background to join our Financial Services team at the University. This role is pivotal in driving financial success and strategic decision-making of the University and will require a unique blend of financial acumen, analytical skills, and business insight. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing financial performance, providing actionable insights, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and the development of business cases and complex financial models to support the University with its achievement of financial and operational objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and refine the financial strategies and models to support the University's strategic investment plans.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of complex financial and commercial analysis, modelling, and reporting to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Prepare and finalise business cases.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across divisions.
- Support the stakeholders with the implementation of strategic transformation and change initiatives and ensure the successful implementation and realisation of key outcomes
- Provide financial guidance to support negotiation and decision-making in commercial transactions.
- Provide feasibility analysis to help with ranking of options and recommendations
- Identify and assess financial risks, and support the development of risk mitigation strategies
- Contribute to continuous improvement and new initiatives.
About you
- Strong commercial acumen, critical thinker, and experience in providing guidance for financial decision-making.
- Extensive experience in complex modelling, data analysis, business case development, and report creation.
- Outstanding presentation, communication, and influencing skills, along with the ability to operate with tact and professionalism.
- Significant experience in business partnering, stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.
- Advanced analytical skills and the ability to work with and transform complex data into compelling insights and visualized data.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Excel.
