POSITION DETAILS:
This position is a full-time, non-exempt position, 37.5 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $28.00. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, NYS retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.
POSITION INFORMATION:
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree.
- Two (2) years volunteer or related work experience.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
- Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six (6) years as a Cooperative Extension educator or equivalent professional experience in teaching or education in an academic or business setting.
- Additional training in animal science production, agricultural engineering, or adult education.
- Agricultural background, agri-business or farm experience, computer education and /or computer experience.
- Experience with administrative tasks, including coordinating events.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, teach and evaluate informal educational programs through a variety of delivery methods to reach individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work with youth and adults, including volunteers.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through oral, written and visual means.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize computer technologies for educational and communication purposes.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Program Responsibilities:
Program Development - 5%
- Apply subject matter knowledge to develop educational strategies in the agriculture, 4-H, and livestock areas.
- Create innovative educational programs in the agriculture, 4-H and Livestock areas.
- Develop/create program materials to address the needs of the program and program participants in the 4-H and Livestock program areas.
- Ensure that program development and program structure are within both the Association and the state-wide Plan of Work and that they meet the diverse needs of program participants.
- Assist in multidisciplinary team efforts to develop programs that address identified priority areas.
