Who you are:
- Current CA Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification required
- Prior experience as an EMT is preferred and/or experience in a similar field or senior living
- Current CA driver’s license required
- Current CA Guard Card preferred
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Ability to work holidays and weekends
Job Summary:
The EMT/Safety Officer Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing and executing the daily operations of the Safety Department on their respective shift and coordinating communications between the shifts and teammates. This role also provides emergency medical response, performs assessments, and initiates appropriate incident‑response interventions. The EMT/Safety Officer Shift Lead oversees both general safety functions and EMT‑specific duties, minor emergency maintenance needs, and maintains readiness to work a flexible schedule as operational needs arise.
Essential Job Duties
- Assists manager with tracking Safety staff required qualifications (CPR/First Aid Cards, EMT Certifications, and other Required Training).
- Assists manager in ensuring that Safety staff complete required safety training and in‑services in a timely manner.
- Reviews and files incident reports for all shifts and distributes copies to appropriate director(s).
- Manages and files daily shift reports.
- Tracks and schedules required maintenance for Safety department golf carts.
- Monitors and maintains department equipment supply levels.
- Assists weekend Manager on Duty, as needed.
- Maintains monthly special events board and coordinates and oversees road blockages and parking for special events.
- Ensures that administrative notices are delivered to resident boxes, as appropriate.
- Assists manager with distributing and communicating emergency instructions via appropriate software.
- Assists manager with reviewing, extracting, and disseminating video footage of incidents involving residents.
- Assists manager with ensuring that daily shift tasks are completed.
- Assists manager in conducting investigations into resident complaints and safety concerns from the initial report to the completion and resolution of the complaint and/or concern.
- Assists manager to ensure that all daily operations are conducted safely and are following appropriate procedures and policy.
- Assists manager in reviewing current departmental policies and procedures and assisting with finding areas of improvement and safer practices.
- All duties and responsibilities assigned to Community Safety Officer (EMT).
Pay Rate
$25 - $27 per hour
Shift:
Day, Evening, and Night shifts (1 Lead per shift)
Additional pay differentials of $1.25 per hour for the PM shift, $1.50 per hour for the NOC shift, and $3.00 per hour for weekend shifts
