Description
This Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role for our Maintenance Department. This position supervises hourly employees in maintenance mechanical and electrical trades to maintain equipment and facilities in good working condition. Maximize up-time of equipment. Meet preventive maintenance schedules and organizational operating goals. Will supervise all maintenance trades including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, machinists, vehicle, and facilities maintenance personnel.
How You WIll Help
- Improve effectiveness of the maintenance department by providing both hands-on training and setting up a formalized training program of our skilled trade employees.
- Reduce downtime of the equipment and the cost of repairs by providing knowledge and working with or directing skilled trades, other maintenance supervision, and engineering.
- Initiate projects that will reduce downtime, scrap, and associated cost.
- Act as the bridge between the Engineering Department and the maintenance organization.
- Works with Human Resources, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, to understand and effectively administer the provisions of the Union contract so as to maximize productivity and minimize disruptions to production while fulfilling all Company commitments in a fair and professional manner.
Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned. Employee must be able to obtain a tow motor license and successfully pass LOTO and confined space training.
What You Will Bring
- High School Diploma required. BS in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline preferred. Professional certifications would be beneficial.
- Must have at least 2 years successful maintenance leadership skills in an industrial environment. Prefer experience in foundry or Machine Shop
- Must have strong work ethic, outgoing and assertive personality and must have excellent team-building skills with subordinates as well as with peers. Professional PC literacy skills in MS Word and Excel are required.
- Work in an ISO environment would be a plus.
