The SRE team at Samsung Ads operates a multi-million dollar ad tech ecosystem composed of several critical revenue bearing systems. We are looking for a passionate leader who will lead the technical strategy and vision for our underpinning infrastructure, alerting & monitoring, infrastructure provisioning, networking, and development tooling in collaboration with other engineering teams and leadership. Hundreds of people strong, with a substantial presence in four countries, the Global P&E team is a fast-paced, dynamic and complex organization operating across a broad spectrum of product and strategic domains.
As the SRE and DevOps Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and executing a strategic vision for SRE and DevOps practices across all regions where Samsung Ads operates. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, availability, and efficiency of our systems while promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Role and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Work with finance teams to develop and manage budgets related to SRE and DevOps initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to security and data protection.
• Develop and communicate a clear vision for SRE and DevOps, aligning it with business objectives.
• Lead and mentor a global team of SRE and DevOps engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development.
• Implement best practices for incident management, post-mortems, and reliability engineering.
• Establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to measure system performance and reliability.
• Drive the adoption of DevOps principles and practices, promoting automation and collaboration between development and operations teams.
• Oversee the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage infrastructure efficiently.
• Ensure the scalability and security of our cloud and on-premises environments.
• Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect and resolve issues.
Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Typically requires a minimum 14 years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or 12 years and a Master’s degree, or a PhD with 9 years experience.
• 14 years of experience in SRE and DevOps leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in automation and scripting (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Python).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of Ad Tech would be preferable.

CALIFORNIA ONLY
Compensation for this role is expected to be between $260,000 and $330,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
