[US] Sr AEM Engineer

How you’ll make an impact: We are looking for a Specialist AEM Developer to work on responsive web applications for clients based around the globe.
You will be required to build and maintain both established and new AEM components and OSGi services as well as implement other aspects of the AEM stack. In addition, you will advise on best practices around the maintainable use of AEM as well as contribute to the development of web services to support the AEM implementation.
What will you be doing? You are going to be responsible for:- Working effectively within an agile team, actively participating in ceremonies on an AEM project for an international financial organization- Working closely with Angular Front End developers to integrate UI components into AEM to add editorial capability- Creating and maintaining AEM components, templates, editorial interfaces and supporting models and OSGi services to supply the application with data using AEM's remote rendering pattern- Defining and writing tests to ensure system quality and maintainability - Configuration of AEM and underlying services to meet project requirements- Analyzing and debugging system issues to deliver fixes- Delivering a number of implementations covering multiple sites within the same AEM instance
Beyond your initial project, you’ll be- Contributing to the culture of Somo’s engineering team and the wider organization- Tracking developments and advising on all aspects of AEM to ensure best practices and customer experience- Working on development projects covering all aspects of the AEM stack as well as web services and APIs- Sharing technical knowledge with the wider engineering team to better enable the team as a whole to understand a broad range of technical offerings- Supporting new business opportunities technically through proof of concepts and technical validation of proposed architectures.
What do you bring to the role? We are looking for someone with the following attributes: - Experience building complex websites with AEM (ideally 6.5)- Component development using HTL/Sightly- Experience writing custom Sling Models- Experience building editorial interfaces for Touch UI- Experience building OSGi services with Java- Experience customizing AEM dialog functionality using JavaScript- Experience with Test Driven Design using JUnit, Mockito, or similar (ideally using aem-mocks)- Building complex AEM projects using Maven- History of working with established AEM code bases- Excellent communication and time management skills- Comfort working with modern Continuous Integration pipelines
Nice to have- Experience writing modern JavaScript frameworks, especially with Angular- Experience working with JavaScript build tools like Webpack and Gulp- Experience using Graph QL- Experience building effective Continuous Integration pipelines for AEM and/or Java-based microservices- Experience performing AEM version upgrades- Experience with Behaviour Driven Development, Domain Driven Design, and/or Hexagonal Architecture- Experience designing, building, and/or maintaining a suite of services based on Spring Boot.
