Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a detailed oriented person to serve as the Human Resource Associate at the Jacksonville Correctional Center. This individual will work with performance evaluations, respond to inquiries, and serve as receptionist. In addition, they will prepare and submit personnel transactions and document. We are seeking a candidate that would be a self -motivated, task oriented, organized individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply.
Essential Functions
- Prepares and submits personnel transactions and documents to proper departments.
- Monitors performance evaluations and sends out monthly reminders.
- Responds to subpoenas, job verifications, Public Aid inquiries, unemployment hearings, etc.
- Verifies employment either by phone or mail and maintains compliance with personnel rules.
- Serves as Personnel Office receptionist.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of 2 years of college or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience with office practices and procedures.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience working with composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience working with arithmetic computations.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience working with human resources programs, rules, and regulations.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience working with and maintaining confidential information.
