Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure to drive automation, reliability, and security across our cloud infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of Software Development, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Build Release Engineering (BRE)—focusing on designing, building, scaling, and securing cloud services through modern infrastructure automation. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining deployment pipelines, ensuring service reliability, and optimizing our cloud platform for security, scalability, and observability. 

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintainscalable, resilient cloud infrastructure with AWS and Kubernetes. 
• Automate infrastructure management using Terraform (preferred), Puppet, CloudFormation, or similar tools. 
• Develop and optimizeCI/CD pipelines to enable fast, secure, and reliable software delivery. 
• Write and maintain high-quality infrastructure-as-code and deployment automation code with experience in a strongly typed language such as Java, Golang,Rust, C#, etc. as well as experience with scripting languages like Python. 
• Improve system monitoring, logging, and observability to proactively detect and mitigate failures. 
• Optimize SQL database management, schema design, and query performance for reliability and efficiency. 
• Ensure security best practices are embedded in all stages of infrastructure and deployment. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Linux-based production environments with a deep understanding of process management and system performance. 

Required Skills and Experiences

• Proven experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools (Terraform, Puppet, CloudFormation, or similar). 
• Strong background in cloud-native architectures with hands-on experience deploying applications on AWS and Kubernetes. 
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD processes and experience working with tools like GitLab CI/CD (preferred), GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD. 
• Proficiency in both scripting languages (Python, Bash) and strongly typed languages like Golang,  Java, Rust, or C#. 
• Strong experience managing SQL databases, including schema design and query optimization. 
• Understanding of Linux internals, process management, and system troubleshooting. 
• Ability to design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, and observable cloud infrastructure. 

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with service meshes like Istio or Linkerd. 
• Familiarity with serverless architecture and event-driven systems. 
• Knowledge of container security best practices and vulnerability scanning. 
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools like NewRelic, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry. 
• Exposure to incident management and post-mortem analysis for high-scale production systems.
