The Maintenance Materials Resource Planning (MRP) Technician will support the Schenectady Cores and Castings Facility/Maintenance team by efficiently managing the readiness of spare part inventory and hardware for planned and unplanned maintenance needs. The position will also support management of contracted maintenance services and coordinate with new equipment installation.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide MRP support for the SCC Facilities/Maintenance team
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of repair parts/hardware in electronic MRP systems
- Drive Leaning2Lead (L2L) integration activities with the global sourcing teams
- Conduct periodic physical inventory audits for facilities and machinery spares, update system inventory levels as appropriate
- Ensure that correct part inventory is available and staged to support planned maintenance
- Develop critical spare inventory parts lists, maintain safety stock, and develop re-order points to support un-planned maintenance
- Propose plans to reconcile existing inventory, execute based on leadership recommendation
- Manage purchase order schedules and communication for contracted periodic maintenance
- Act as a back-up to the Maintenance Leader as needed
- Drive 2S and 5S lean practices for maintenance storage areas
- Utilize lean tools such as visual management/Kanban when applicable
- Interface with Materials Team and suppliers for status of ordered material
- Partner with EHS/Safety with task hazard analysis reviews and other key initiatives
- Support Lean events regarding TPM, machine availability, etc.
- Although primarily a first shift assignment, role will require flexibility to manage communications across a three-shift operation
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems
- A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills. Provides informal guidance to new team members
Qualifications/Requirements
- Ability to work 1st Shift (7am-3pm)
- Associates Degree and 4 or more years’ experience in manufacturing, or a high school diploma /GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Manufacturing
- Knowledge of relevant Excel/Word packages and familiarity with Electronic Management Systems such as Maximo, SAP, Ariba, and L2L
- Ability to understand, interpret, and create written technical information (i.e. work instructions, dimensional tolerances, and standard operating procedures)
- Experience with inventory control management
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills

- This position is 100% on site at GE Vernova’s Schenectady Campus

The weekly pay for this position is 1,405.97 USD. This posting is expected to close when a suitable candidate is identified.
