Workday’s Cybersecurity & Trust organization exists to inspire confidence and trust in Workday. We safeguard the personal information of 60+ million people and the financial information of some of the largest companies in the world.Cybersecurity is woven into the fabric of Workday and is core to everything we do! The Workday Enterprise Security function is crucial for protecting Workday's critical data, infrastructure, and applications by providing expert guidance, technical solutions, and risk mitigation across all enterprise systems, focusing on security architecture, technical controls, and policy enforcement. The leader of Enterprise Identity will be responsible for defining and implementing the strategy for all Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems. This role requires deep domain expertise in complex IAM solutions (SSO, MFA, PAM, IGA), the ability to develop a scalable, zero-trust-aligned identity strategy, deep technical proficiency with tools like Okta and Azure AD, proven success in leading engineering and operations teams, and an excellent understanding of risk management, security frameworks, and compliance (e.g., SOX, GDPR).

As the Director of Enterprise Identity, you will serve as the principal architect and champion for the digital fabric that connects our people to their work. This is a high-visibility leadership position designed for a strategic problem solver. The ideal candidate will view identity not just as a security perimeter, but as a critical driver of business velocity and employee experience. You are responsible for leading an elite team of engineers to build a resilient, Zero Trust ecosystem that secures thousands of global identities across a complex, multi-cloud environment. Beyond the technical stack, you will act as a key advisor to executives, translating sophisticated identity risks into strategic business outcomes and ensuring that our identity posture evolves at the speed of modern threats. About You
Basic qualifications:
10+ years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering, architecture, cloud and/or related role
8+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IGA), Identity Governance Administration (IGA), or related
5+ years of people leadership experience
5+ years experience in crafting strategic roadmaps, balancing partner objectives, driving execution, and leading change across the enterprise
Experience designing and implementing security controls and processes such as authentication, authorization, role- and policy- based access control, and zero standing privilege
Other Qualifications
Expertise to clearly communicate to business and technical executives daily.
Ability to connect with both technical and non-technical staff. Ability to translate sophisticated technical concepts into plain English and present them in a way that decision-makers can understand.
