Assistant Director, Counseling Services/Wellness Center

This position is a part of Counseling Services within the Wellness Center on the University of South Florida's St. Petersburg campus. This position will assist in the management of clinical counseling operations and counseling delivery systems, and will report to the Director of Counseling Services/Associate Director for the Wellness Center. Position will be responsible for providing mental health services to the USF St. Petersburg campus and providing operational oversight of the Counseling Center. In addition, this position will provide direct clinical service to students, outreach and consultation services to the campus community, and clinical consultation/supervision of counseling staff and trainees. The successful candidate will value a holistic approach to integrated care, prevention/early intervention efforts, data-driven organizational management, multicultural values/awareness and collaborative campus connections.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Providing direct services regarding mental health counseling for campus community (e.g., assessment and referral, crisis intervention, individual/group therapy).
- Providing coordination, oversight, vision, and leadership for counseling services center operations
- Supervising staff and provide training/supervision for mental health trainees
- Developing and implementing quality of care improvement initiatives. Provide clinical and administrative oversight of the Counseling Services medical record keeping systems. Assisting the campus community in the role of crisis management and acting as a liaison of the Counseling Services/Wellness Center.
- Responsible for abiding by state, federal and professional ethical guidelines. Uphold and abide by professional standards and ethics on documentation and case management standards to ensure the Center's compliance with state, national and institutional guidelines regarding confidentiality, privacy, and the provision of treatment as well as record maintenance.
- Providing mental health related outreach, training, and consultation services to the campus community. Providing appropriate training for the Wellness Center staff as
needed. Collaborate with Director and or designee on policies pertaining to outreach and trainings to the campus community. - Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a terminal degree (PhD or PsychD) and Florida mental health counseling licensure. 5 years of relevant clinical experiences as a licensed psychologist (at least 3 years post licensure) with at least 3 years in higher education counseling centers. Demonstration of both clinical and administrative leadership experience within a collegiate mental health setting. Demonstration of knowledge, skills, awareness in multicultural competence of service delivery and leadership. Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting.

• (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
• (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
• (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
• (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
