As the CSR Specialist, Community Impact, you will develop, manage, and implement an enterprise-wide philanthropic strategy that strengthens community safety, preparedness, response, and resilience across Williams’ operating footprint. As the leader of the Foundation’s Public Safety & Resilience pillar, you will ensure charitable investments align with community needs, business priorities, and Williams’ reputation as a trusted community partner. You will use sound judgment and strong relationship management skills to translate strategy into consistent funding decisions. You will help build a focused portfolio of nonprofit and community partners, recommend funding levels, measure impact, and prepare executive-ready reports and recommendations.
Responsibilities/Expectations
- Develops and leads an enterprise-wide philanthropic strategy that strengthens community safety, preparedness, response and resilience across Williams’ operating footprint
- Strategically directs charitable investments by assessing community needs, business priorities and funding opportunities to maximize community impact and align with corporate objectives
- Evaluates funding requests and conducts due diligence to ensure eligibility, compliance, strategic fit and measurable outcomes
- Builds and manages relationships with nonprofits, first responder agencies, community organizations, civic leaders and internal stakeholders to identify and advance community investment opportunities
- Monitors and assesses funded programs and partnerships, providing recommendations to continue, expand, evolve or sunset investments based on impact and changing needs
- Prepares recommendations, reports, dashboards and executive-level materials that communicate funding rationale, outcomes, risks and community impact
- Promotes employee engagement and community visibility through volunteerism, events, strategic partnerships and community outreach initiatives
- Leads cross-functional projects, committees and corporate social responsibility initiatives while serving as a philanthropic subject matter expert, mentor and community representative
- Other Duties as assigned
Education/ Years of Experience:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Business, Marketing, Communications, CSR, Non-Profit Management or relevant field; a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience working at a non-profit organization, marketing, foundation or community relations role
- Preferred: Master's degree in Public Relations, Business, Marketing, Communications, CSR, Non-Profit Management or relevant field; a minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience working at a non-profit organization, marketing, foundation or community relations role
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills
- Knowledge of public safety, first responder organizations, emergency management, disaster relief, community resilience, and crisis stabilization systems
- Experience designing and managing multi-year partnerships, signature initiatives, or place-based community investment portfolios
- Strategic thinking with the ability to align philanthropic investments to business priorities, community needs, and reputation goals
- Sound judgment and disciplined decision-making in evaluating funding requests and managing a charitable giving portfolio
- Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and influencing skills, with experience partnering across executive leadership, operations, government affairs, communications, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders to drive cross-functional initiatives
- Strong writing and editing capabilities with a thorough understanding of Associated Press (AP) writing style
