About the Team

DoorDash started implementing merchant promos in 2019, evolving from a single promotional offering to a billion dollar business covering different use cases and consumer discounts. Promos are now an essential component of DoorDash’s vision to provide products and services to help restaurants grow through discounts that delight customers and increase affordability. 

About the Role

As the manager and lead for the Promos analytics team, you’ll be leading a team of data scientists who are working on improving the performance of promotions that our merchants rely on to drive their growth. Projects span from UI improvements to ML-driven optimization models. You will work closely with product and eng teams to build new products and optimize existing ones, and work with strategy and ops teams to bring these to market and validate ROI for restaurants. You will oversee our metrics and analytics strategy to align your team around a shared mission to drive positive outcomes for merchants, consumers, and Doordash alike.

• Lead and develop a team of Data Scientists in building software products and uncovering key drivers of our business, along with your own contributions as an Individual Contributor
• Influence the Product and Operations roadmap by making actionable recommendations based on data
• Interface frequently with senior leadership to showcase your team’s work and tackle complex business problems
• Drive measurement strategy for the area under scope, defining success metrics and implementing best practices around experiment design and statistical analysis
• Develop a strategic learning roadmap based on data observations, strategic questions, and hypotheses

We're excited about you because you have…

• 3+ years of experience managing a team of data scientists in a formal or informal capacity, and a track record of delivering impactful analyses
• 6+ years of experience in Data Science and Product Analytics, primarily in related industries
• Strength in leading through your technical chops, and ability to leverage it appropriately in the business context
• Deep understanding of, and hands-on experience with A/B experimentation
• Experience with data pipelines
• Excellent communication and cross-functional working skills, including the ability to present complex findings to non-technical audiences and influence strategic decisions

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.
