The Clinical, Medical and Regulatory (CMR) department at Novo Nordisk is one of the most diverse and collaborative groups within the organization. The Program 

At Novo Nordisk, interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced industry professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience.   For ten weeks, interns will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work.  Our internship program also includes instructor led trainings, a leadership engagement series, and a guided mentorship program to offer professional and personal development.   

 

In addition to individual department responsibilities, interns will also participate in the program’s capstone event, the Innovation in Action Case Competition.  Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative and comprehensive solution to a business problem currently facing Novo Nordisk.  At the conclusion of the program, teams will present their findings to a board of top Novo Nordisk officials representing the various lines of business. 

 

Program Start: June 3rd, 2024. 

Program End: August 9th, 2024. 

 

Scope of Position 

The intern will support the Cardiovascular Renal therapeutic area and will work closely with the Program Development and Training Director as well as with the Medical Alignment Director to support the therapeutic area.

 

The intern will support the creation and execution of scientific training and resources for field medical teams. The intern will conduct literature searches and needs assessments, provide scientific review for resources, and ensure that copyright permissions have been obtained for materials. The intern may also have the opportunity to provide support for virtual training for field medical teams. The intern will support medical business analytics, in the generation and interpretation of data pertaining to the interactions in the field between Novo Nordisk Medical Liaisons and health care professional stakeholders as well as the medical insights obtained through these interactions. These analyses will play a significant role in informing the broader organization to the common questions, discussion topics and areas of interest of these key stakeholders. The intern will help design and develop the data analytic strategy pertaining to sharing this information with internal stakeholders.  

 

Additional activities may also include: 

• KOL Identification/Management. 

• Stakeholder projects and pilots related to the therapy area. 

• Organization and simplification of library of resources and training materials. This will include working with the teams to determine the best solutions/processes for accessibility by teams and ensuring the content is up to date. 

• Help with omnichannel strategy and execution for cardiology stakeholders. 

• Support with the development and dissemination of the quarterly NAO Echo Newsletter. 

 

The intern may also have the opportunity to participate in virtual and/or in-person field ride with medical liaisons. 

 

Physical Requirements 

• 0% overnight travel required.

Qualifications 

• Must be a current student enrolled or recently graduated (graduation date no earlier than April 2024) at/from an accredited college or university pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree. 

• A completed or in progress doctorate degree in Pharmacy, Medicine or a related discipline preferred. 

• Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. 

• Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail. 

• Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task. 

• Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently,
